This position reports to the Project Manager, and will work closely with the Enterprise Systems Architect and other Developers. The incumbent will consult with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify systems objectives. The incumbent will also be responsible for documentation to describe custom configuration of applications, technical/functional specifications and operating procedures. The position requires at least 3 years of experience in the field or in a related area. You must have a working knowledge of relational databases, web and client-server concepts, and be able to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise and recommendations in assessing new IT software projects and initiatives to support and enhance our existing systems.
- Investigate and resolve application functionality related issues and provide first level support and troubleshooting of systems.
- Coordinate application development for multiple projects.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and identify modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing user requirements.
- Provide minor programming for some in-house IT projects.
- Provide MSSQL/MySQL administration in live and test environments.
- Write technical procedures and documentation for the applications including operations, user guide, etc.
- Verify database and data integrity.
- Assist in the creation of the system design and technical and functional specifications for all new development projects.
Qualifications and Skills
- Should have a minimum of 3 years of technology experience with at least 2 years hands-on technical roles in the field and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Extensive knowledge of data processing, enterprise software applications, web development, and user support.
- High level experience with Database design and development using Microsoft SQL and MySQL.
- Background of programming in any of the modern languages.
- Good working knowledge with Team Foundation Server is preferred.
- Strong project management skills with effective results focus within an information systems environment.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.
- Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high pressure on-call environment with changing priorities.
- Willingness to work occasionally outside of normal business hours.
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills.

PHP Developer

As a PHP Developer, reporting to our Enterprise Systems Architect, your key challenge will be to design and develop current and new features for new and ongoing projects. Your main objective will be to write up-to-date code in PHP, making the best use of current and new technologies which you’ll be given time to investigate and propose solutions in. As well as working on new features and generally improving quality you’ll be introducing comprehensive tests on existing projects. You’ll also work on supporting infrastructure including Continuous Integration and Development Operations.
Responsibilities
- Participating in a team-oriented environment to develop complex web-based applications.
- Maintaining existing codebase, to include troubleshooting bugs and adding new features.
- Providing accurate timing estimates on work.
- Contributing to documentation (instructional, pitch and technical specification).

Qualifications and Skills
- With a Degree in Computer Science or similar and a passion for technology, you’ll have considerable experience developing scalable PHP sites, with the ability to get up to speed quickly and remain current on new and emerging technologies and their potential application. You must have strengths in PHP, Codeigniter and a strong knowledge of RESTful services and CMSs like Wordpress and Joomla.
- Minimum 3 years of experience, preferably as PHP Developer.
- Extensive working experience in PHP ver 5 and later.
- Good experience of GitHub/BitBucket and its methodologies including git flow.
- Good working experience of MVC principles & similar patterns.
- Extensive experience with MySQL.
- Good experience with Joomla & Wordpress.
- High level experience of using RESTful architecture and external APIs.
- Extensive experience with HTML5, XHMTL, XML, CSS, CSS3, Bootstrap, Javascript/JQuery and Angular JS.
